Top Starter Pack Recommendations
Among the popular "Strongest Genes" series card packs, Charizard, Mewtwo, and Pikachu each bring unique strengths. New players can choose based on their preferences, but we suggest starting with the Pikachu pack for its reliability and beginner-friendly gameplay.
Why Pikachu?
Pikachu EX is a solid choice for beginners. It can deal 90 damage when there are three Electric-type Pokémon on the bench, making it a simple yet effective card to use.
Card Pack Strategies: Long-Term Planning
Here are some tips for planning your draws depending on which pack you want to target in the future:
1. Planning to Draw from the Charizard Pack Later?
- Start with either the Charizard or Pikachu pack.
- If you pick Charizard first, you might build a deck featuring Exeggutor EX ×2, which works well for fast attacks but isn’t always the best choice.
- If you pull Blastoise EX ×2 or Lapras ×2, consider switching to the Pikachu pack instead, as Wartortle EX and Misty (Trainer) from this pack are strong in this version.
2. Planning to Draw from the Mewtwo Pack Later?
- Start with either the Mewtwo or Charizard pack.
- The Mewtwo pack includes not only Mewtwo EX but also Venusaur EX.
- If you start with Charizard, you can get Exeggutor EX and build a Grass-type team. However, if you pull Venusaur EX ×2, switch to Charizard to pair Exeggutor EX with Erika (Trainer) for better mid-game sustainability and late-game power.
- If you draw Articuno EX ×2, consider switching to Charizard or Pikachu packs to target Blastoise EX and Greninja, or Wartortle EX and Misty (Trainer).
3. Planning to Draw from the Pikachu Pack Later?
- Start with the Pikachu pack.
- Arcanine EX forms a team faster than Charizard EX and relies less on Moltres EX. Aim for two copies of Blaine (Trainer) alongside Ponyta for the best synergy.
- Pikachu EX is currently the most stable attacker in the game, but its max damage is 90, and it struggles against enemies with 100 HP. To counter this, include two copies of Giovanni (Trainer) to help control the battlefield.
By following these strategies, you can set yourself up for success and enjoy the ultimate Pokémon Trading Card Game experience on mobile. Good luck, and happy battling!
